The Calverton School seeks motivated students who will benefit from a rigorous, college preparatory program and contribute to the school community. Admission is based on academic ability, achievement, and character. Calverton does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sexual preference, or national origin in the administration of its educational, admission, financial aid, or employment practices and other school-administered programs.
Admissions Process
Calverton is pleased to offer rolling admissions to our new prospective families! This means that as long as space is available in a certain section or grade, there is no fixed deadline for application or admission.
Since seats are limited, we strongly recommend that families complete the admissions process between September and January of the academic year prior to which they are seeking enrollment.
Should you have any questions or concerns, please know that a member of our Admissions Team is available to speak with you at any time.
Step 1 - Inquire Online
While not a necessary part of the Admissions Process here at Calverton, filling out an online inquiry lets us know that you are interested in Calverton. It will also send you an automated e-mail with information on how to begin the online application. Typically, a member of our Admissions Team will follow up with you within 24-48 hours after having submitted an online inquiry. You may also call us! We'd be happy to fill out the online for you when on the phone.
Step 2 - Experience Calverton
The best way for a family to decide if Calverton is right for their child's academic needs is to experience it. You may attend an Open House, schedule a personal tour, and/or sign your child(ren) up for our "Cougar for a Day" program where they will shadow, as a student, for the day with a Calverton student who shares similar interests.
Step 3 - Apply Online
Use the username and password received when you completed your online inquiry to fill out our online application. Don't remember what it was? No problem! Call our office and we'd be happy to reset if for you. Please note that there is a $75 application fee, per family. If you are planning on applying for financial aid, we highly recommend that you do so in conjunction with the application process as it can take several weeks to process a decision for financial aid. Scholarships are available to students entering Grades 9-11, meeting certain academic criteria. Once you receive a scholarship, it is yours to keep for the duration of your years at Calverton; pending you continue to meet the criteria.
Step 4 - Test
The Calverton School administers the ISEE for students applying for entrance into Grade 2 - 12. In the event you are applying to multiple independent schools and already have ISEE results for your child, you can have them sent to:
Office of Admissions
300 Calverton School Road
Huntingtown, MD 20639
The SAT or PSAT can be substituted for testing for applicants to our Upper School as long as official results can be provided to our Office of Admissions.

Please turn in the required forms to your child's current school when beginning the admissions process. You may mail, email or fax any of these documents. Please email them to Amy Brady at abrady@calvertonschool.org. To fax, please send to 410-630-5561.
