Calverton and the IB Program

Three Options:

1. IB Diploma Awarded to students who complete core requirements (plus Calverton HS Diploma)
2. IB “Diploma Courses” Certification to students who take individual courses (plus Calverton HS Diploma)
3. Calverton HS Diploma – awarded to all students who complete Calverton graduation requirements

In the Freshman year, your child will spend time planning their individual curricular course with the IB Coordinator. Each student is viewed individually and their unique needs and plan of action will impact the course selection Calverton offers.

Calverton’s Current Classes Compared to the IB program:

Honors/Regular Classes = Standard Level (SL) IB Courses
AP Classes = Higher Level (HL) IB Courses

Calverton in 2011
5 (+ 1 optional) courses in 11th Grade
5 (+ 1 optional) courses in 12th Grade resulting in 10 - 12 credits

Calverton in 2013
6 Courses over two years + TOK, EE and CAS resulting in 13 full class credits
