Cougar Athletic Complex

Lydia Leitch Memorial Gymnasium

In 1972, a generous donation from Lydia Leitch, a retired Calvert County teacher, provided the funds necessaryto build the gymnasium.

The Leitch Gymnasium houses a full-size basketball court, bleachers and locker rooms, and serves as the venue for many major school-wide activities, assemblies, and events.

Veterans Field

Veterans Field is in memory of Forrest K. Foreman - Special Forces.  On October 28, 2007, The Calverton School honored CSM Foreman and all American servicemen and women.  In 1977, CSM Foreman was selected to be one of the four original members of the Delta Force, an elite Army counterterrorism unit.  Command Sergeant Major Arthur A. Hutchins, USA (Ret.), a parent of The Calverton School, was a close friend of CSM Foreman.  They served together in various Special Forces units in both peace and war.  Command Sergeant Major Hutchins and his family were instrumental in the creation of Veterans Field.

The Cougar Complex

Cougar Courts, the practice field, the softball field, Alumni Field, Veterans Field, and the cross country trails are all part of the Cougar Complex. Map of the Cougar Complex

The Alumni Field

The Alumni Field came to be through contributions from The Calverton School alumni.

Chaney Field

In honor of Richard H. Chaney, a longtime member of the Calverton family.
