What Does the Fund Support?
When we come together in support of The Calverton Fund, we come together in support of our students.
Together We Give and With Your Support . . .
The goal of our daily physical education program is to promote a life-long passion for physical wellness and a healthy sense of competition and sportsmanship. Your support helps to maintain outstanding athletic opportunities for our students, including the upkeep of our athletic facilities, equipment and fields.
When our students hear music, use paint brushes, recite Shakespeare in front of an audience, travel to museums, and go on field trips, they are building on their experiences, and fueling their natural inclination to create. Creativity has been identified as a 21st-century skill eseential for connection and collaboration in life. The arts foster imagination and creative problem-solving skills and develop critical judgement, open mindeedness and independent thinking. Your support of The Calverton Fund provides these richly satisfying sources of incspiration to our students.
Field Trips Transport
We live in an area full of unique learning experiences, and every field trip our students go on is carefully chosen to complement their classroom learning, from Farming 4 Hunger to the Smithsonian Museum of American History to the Jewish Museum of Maryland to the PAX River NAS Museum. By giving to The Calverton Fund you help students explore the world through interactive field trips like these and so many more.
To be a great teacher, you have to be a dedicated student. The Calverton Fund supports continuing educational development for faculty through conference and workshop attendance that enable our faculty and staff to dedicate themselves to their own learning and enhance the classroom experience for their students.
Technology is a valuable tool in active teaching. The most recent years' gifts to The Calverton Fund have supported the new Explore Scholars Program, the new IB Computer Science offering, and high-speed fiber that serves the entire campus.
