What is the D.C. United Academy Residential Program?

The D.C. United Academy Residential program at The Calverton School nurtures aspiring professional players at the Under-14 to Under-18 level from the Mid-Atlantic region, across the country, and around the globe. Located twenty-five miles outside of Washington, D.C., The Calverton School campus boasts the One World Residential Village and four athletic playing fields, as well as a controlled environment that promotes the academic and athletic lifestyle of a developing professional. The program will include five-day and seven-day residential programs for domestic and international student-athletes, along with a day option for local student-athletes. Whether living on campus or off, all programs allow for both morning and afternoon training sessions.

What is D.C. Calverton?

The Calverton School will be running the club team D.C. Calverton, which is affiliated with D.C. United Academy and can provide opportunities for motivated players, both domestic and international, to continue their development in order to pursue soccer at the next level (collegiate, professional). With the affiliation with D.C. United, D.C. Calverton will offer athletes an unmatched playing experience, opportunities, and exposure.

Program Highlights:

Boarding & Day Students (Grades 8th-12th)

  • Players will be placed on Calverton's Upper School team and club team.
  • Open to day and boarding students.
  • Five-day or seven-day residency program at Calverton's One World Residential Village
  • Players live in a controlled environment which promotes an academic and athletic lifestyle to maximize the potential of a developing professional.
  • Academic schedules will allow for am and pm training sessions throughout the week.
  • A top rate education from The Calverton School through their International Baccalaureate Program.
  • Players receive professional soccer instruction from D.C. United's Academy staff.
  • The Calverton School provides remarkable facilities including 2 Bermuda grass fields, 1 stadium turf field, and a gymnasium.

Financial Aid: The Calverton School can offer financial aid from prospective student-athletes. All applications for financial aid will be reviewed by the school and club.

The application process includes completing both the Academy Soccer Application and The Calverton School Application. Both applications need to be completed prior to any consideration for admittance into the program.

We are proud to announce, Julian Jackson, Calverton Class of 2022 was awarded the 2018 President's Volunteer Service Award by completing over 100 service hours in 2018.

He earned the Gold Award by regularly volunteering in his community. Julian was a Peer Leader in a Special Needs Sunday School class and assisted at the Charles County Humane Society.

The President's Volunteer Service Award is an initiative of the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) and is administered by Points of Light. Through a shared mission of inspiring more to answer the call to service, the President's Volunteer Service Award celebrates the impact we can all make in bettering our communities and our world.
