Admissions Process

The Calverton School admits motivated students who will benefit from a rigorous, college-preparatory program and contribute to the school community. Admission is based on academic ability, achievement, and character. Calverton does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sexual preference, or national origin in the administration of its educational, admission, financial aid, or employment practices and other school-administered programs.

Step One: Contact Us

The easiest way to contact us is to fill out an online inquiry.

This lets us know that you are interested in Calverton and will automatically generate an e-mail with information on how to begin the online application. A member of our Admissions Team will follow up with you within 24-48 hours of receiving an online inquiry.

You may also call us at (410) 535-0216 to speak directly with a member of our admissions team and begin the admission process.

Step Two: Experience Calverton

We invite you to continue your exploration of Calverton with a visit to our campus. Parents and prospective students should attend an Open House or schedule a personal tour of the school. Talk to our teachers, meet our students, evaluate our programs from the inside.

Step Three: Apply Online

To apply for admission to The Calverton School, use this link to complete the online application. Please follow the instructions provided to create an account and start your application. There is a $75 application fee, per student.

If you are planning on applying for financial aid, we highly recommend that you do so in conjunction with the application process as it can take several weeks to process a decision for financial aid. Scholarships are available to students entering Grades 9-11, who meet certain academic criteria.

The Calverton School does not accept seniors. Exceptions are made for qualifying military families and/or students who participated in an IB curriculum during their junior year.

Step Four: Cougar for a Day

Prospective students who have completed the online application are invited to become a Cougar for a Day. Visiting students will accompany a Calverton student, experiencing first-hand what daily life is like here on campus.

Please contact the Office of Admissions to RSVP

Step Five: Testing

Students entering grades K - 5 may contact the Office of Admissions to schedule a testing appointment.

Applicants to Grades 6 - 11 should complete the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) offered at our school on the following dates:

December 14, 2019
February 22, 2020
April 4, 2020

These tests may be taken at any school that serves as a test site; please have your results forwarded to The Calverton School. You may register online at (Calverton's code is 210650). We recommend that students schedule testing in November and December due to the risk of inclement weather.

Applicants to grades 10 and 11 who have taken the PSAT/SAT or ACT may submit those scores for review to determine whether or not further testing is needed.

Step Six: Important Documents

Please turn in the required forms to your child's current school when beginning the admissions process. E-mail, fax, or mail the completed documents to the attention of the Office of Admissions.

Step Seven: Admissions Committee

Once the file is complete, it will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee and a decision rendered.
