This Tuesday-Thursday position teaches music classes primarily to Pre- Kindergarten through 5th grade. This position requires a passionate individual to teach music classes, applicants must possess a high energy level and solid classroom management skills for all ages. Preferred candidate will be a successful teacher who is capable of promoting the values and ideals of the school through music.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:

  • Must possess a high level of competency in both vocal and instrumental music
  • Must possess a high energy level, a sound understanding of, and proven rapport with children.
  • Must have solid classroom management skills for all age groups.
  • Must be capable of teaching various levels of students.
  • Manage and follow music curriculum.
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with student, parents, colleagues, staff, and administration.
  • Assess and monitor student progress on a regular basis.
  • Must possess technology skills with use of Microsoft Office and basic internet skills
  • Plan, prepare students, and organize school-wide performances a few times throughout the year.

Education and/or Experience: B.A. or B.S. in related field required. Prior teaching experience preferred.


The Calverton School is seeking an energetic, organized, and caring PreK4 classroom assistant. Candidates must have at least two years of preschool experience. The Calverton School is seeking a dynamic Learning Specialist with experience in assessment of and working with student learning differences. Qualified candidates should be able to provide basic educational assessment, understand and summarize professional educational testing, plan and implement interventions for students, be an excellent writer and communicator, be able to consult with and advise teachers on student learning needs. The Learning Specialist also serves as a member of the Middle School team as adviser, and, if needed,teaching one MS class.Individual should be knowledgeable about developing a Student Support Center. Educational background should include special education training, Masters in Education or related field preferred. House parent/Room & Board available but not required.

The Calverton School is seeking an athletic trainer for the 2018-2019 academic year. While the majority of duties will pertain to athletic training, as needed, other duties might include medical runs for campus residents during the school day and leading classes as a substitute on occasion while living in the One World Residential Village and participating On Call for evening coverage.

D.C. United and The Calverton School are hosting a 2-day identification session for soccer players interested D.C. United's Academy and their Residential Program for the 2018/2019 academic year. In partnership with The Calverton School, D.C. United's Academy will offer a five-day and seven-day residential program for domestic and international players, while also providing flexible academic schedules to local talent to allow for morning and afternoon training sessions. The program is in place to attract and nurture aspiring professional players.
