Pre-Kindergarten Teacher

Full-time Pre-K classroom teacher. College degree in early childhood and/or elementary education required and a passion for teaching this age group. Experience with young children is necessary. Teacher will plan all lessons, provide hands-on, sensory learning, model positive behaviors, take initiative to look for opportunities to enhance the learning program, and work to meet the needs of a diverse group of learners.Must be able to move about easily, lift small children, and assist with toileting if necessary. The Calverton School seeks a full-time PreK-5thgrade Lower School Science teacher to teach a broad range of science studies, including life science, earth science, physical science, gardening and health. This position will also be required to plan for science-based events (Science Fair, Earth Day, STEAM Day, etc.) as well as care for classroom pets.This teacher will have a creative approach to teaching to diverse learners in a small independent school setting.

The ideal candidate will have previous teaching experience at the elementary level and possess a passion for the age group. Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree. A Master’s degree is preferred.Additionally, as a school, we seek a candidate who has knowledge and experience in using educational technology in the classroom, who brings an active interest in researching ways to enhance the program, who enjoys working with children of all ages, and who can contribute to campus life outside of the classroom through leadership of clubs, sports, or service.

The Pre-Kindergarten Aide position assists the Pre-Kindergarten teacher in all functions of a lower school classroom.Degree in early childhood educationpreferred.Prior experience with young children necessary. This position assists the classroom teacher in organizing daily activities for Pre-K students ensuring each child has a rewarding, fun, restful, and safe environment in which to learn. Also assists with supervision of children, whether inside or outside, during free play, or during the course of an activity, and assists in the set up and clean-up of activities. The Calverton School Athletic Department is seeking candidates for part-time coaching positions working with the Girls’ Lacrosse teams for the spring of the 2018-2019 season.


Coaching and playing experience at the high school and/or collegiate level
Ability to work with and motivate students of all skill levels
Punctuality at practices and games
Consistent attendance at practices and games
Student centric with emphasis on fundamentals and building high level for learning

RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to):

Supporting school policies, including but not limited to: sportsmanship, integrity, accountability, dedication, and effort
Maintaining the school's mission and philosophy throughout the season, and developing and teaching programmatic systems consistent with the entire basketball program
Working in association with Athletic Trainer in event of injury
Planning and managing practices with written practice plans and game strategies
Traveling to/from away games with team
Serving as mentor to current students and alumni, staff and community
Attending parent-coaches pre-season meetings
Maintaining and exemplifying appropriate conduct towards officials, opposing coaches, and players

The positions will run from November 1th to February 24th. Stipend is commensurate with experience and competitive within high school athletics.

The Calverton School is seeking an athletic trainer for the 2018-2019 academic year. While the majority of duties will pertain to athletic training, as needed, other duties might include medical runs for campus residents during the school day and leading classes as a substitute on occasion while living in the One World Residential Village and participating On Call for evening coverage.
